Corey is a unconcerned, aristocratic thief, released from prison attached the same day that Vogel, a man-slayer, escapes from the custody of the persevering Mattei, a cat-loving police conductor. Corey robs Rico, his mob overseer, then enlists Vogel and an ex-police sharpshooter, Jansen, in a gem heist. While Corey is harried ~ dint of. the vengeful Rico, Mattei pressures Santi, a nightclub holder and pimp, to help him toil the thieves. Over all hangs the quick parts of the police directeur, that each man is guilty.
